Pentax K10D review
- Article

Kodak Z710 review
- Article
- 24 November 2006
The “Z” range from Kodak is their “high zoom” range. C is for “point and shoot” (or entry level), V is for Pocket and P is for “performance” (full blown bridge cameras). That kind of tells you what you need to know about this camera - not enough features to count as performance, too big to be compact and too advanced to be a point and shoot. That's a bit of a glib summary but the Z710 is pretty much a 7 million pixel bridge camera with a huge zoom lens. It has the usual features you'd expect from a bridge (including PAS&M modes for full picture control) - but its main trick is that huge lens. Read the full review here

Nikon 12-24mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S DX Nikkor test
- Article
- 20 October 2006
The 12-24mm ultra wide-angle zoom design enables a combination of wider angle of view with optical characteristics optimized for use with every Nikon digital SLR. Two ED glass elements minimize chromatic aberration while three aspherical lens elements control distortion and reduce the overall size of the lens. Our own comments A slightly more practical approach to wide angle photography is to choose a zoom. More distortion is introduced with a zoom, but this lens has won awards for managing to avoid most of those problems to some degree. At over a grand, you'd expect some good quality. This belongs in the Intermediate to Advanced photographer's bag. Read the full test here
