Transcend Japan Sponsors professional nature photographer Junji Takasago

Transcend will sponsor Japanese nature photographer Junji Takasago. Junji Takasago is a free-lance photographer specialized in capturing the beauty of nature. He is famous for his picture entitled “Night Rainbow” taken in Maui, Hawaii. As the nighttime rainbow can only be seen in the reflection of moonlight, there are only a few people who actually witness it. It is so called the Spirit Rainbow, a blessing sign for the person who sees it. This picture made its way into many corners of the media at the time, and his pictures were usually acclaimed for their soothing power.
Transcend is planning to hold several photography workshops with Junji Takasago this year. The first workshop will take place at the Akihabara convention center, Tokyo on June 27, 2008. At the workshop, Junji Takasago will share his plentiful experience of taking photos all over the world. Moreover, Transcend Japan will organize a photography contest this summer, and Junji Takasago will be invited to be the judge.
Junji Takasago was born in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan in 1962. He has worked as a contracted photographer for "Diving World," a Japanese periodical published by Marine Planning Inc. In 1989, Junji Takasago became a free-lance photographer and began to work on a wider range of projects. His published collections include Free (1993), Aqua (1995), Life (1998), Why Sea Lions Laugh (2000), and Night Rainbow (2003).
