The K100D's polycarbonate body is black, solid, and extremely well-finished. The body shape is well-designed and provides comfortable and secure hold, with rubber covered areas on the grip and a ridge that fits the thumb on the back.
The top of the K100D's grip supports the chrome shutter release, surrounded by the power switch, which also serves as a depth of field preview when pulled to the
