Nikon releases firmware update for the D40 and D80 digital SLR

Nikon releases firmware updates for the D40 and D80 digital SLR. The firmware update for the D40 includes Certification for Windows Vista and adds new USB support, extended date settings, and a number of display and menu improvements. In addition a number of problems have been resolved. The update for the D80 adds the display of additional information in the viewfinder when the brightness exceeds the range that can be controlled by the camera. Furthermore problems with in-camera editing of images have been resolved.
