No details other than the pixel count, a silhouetted image and a counter to the day of the announcement are available at the moment.
Translations of Japanese photography sites also reveal that one of the statements in the animation are that the new camera will, "condense high performance into a compact body."
The silhouetted image has been suitably blacked out by Nikon, but brightening the image reveals styling cues familiar in the D70s, such as the mode dial on the right-hand side. The camera in the image also has a built-in flash, which signifies this won't be a professional model.
