Fujifilm's more than $8 million commitment to the National Zoo has helped fund a variety of giant panda conservation efforts: bringing Mei Xiang and Tian Tian (parents of baby Tai) to the zoo from China; supporting the science that made possible Tai Shan’s birth; enabling zoo scientists to travel to China, sharing technology, expertise and knowledge; and funding a comprehensive education program to raise public awareness about giant panda conservation.
Just a few years ago giant pandas were a species heading for extinction. Today, thanks to the work of the National Zoo and others, the prospects for survival are looking very promising. So, Fujifilm has reason to celebrate along with Tai and his many fans and admirers. "Happy Birthday Tai Shan!" You can read the full article here
