Digital camera market grows 27%, DSLRs up 75%

According to data from CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) digital camera shipments by CIPA members (the majority of digital camera manufacturers) are up 27% overall in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. The largest growth coming from DSLRs, a total of 3.5 million units, up some 75% compared to the first half of last year. Despite strong growth price pressures mean that growth by value is less at around 11% for a total of $5.9 billion. Read the whole article here
